Nia Long is the movie and television actress known for her iconic roles in the classic 90’s show The Fresh Prince of Bel Air as Lisa and comedic films, Friday and Are We There Yet? alongside Ice Cube, and the Big Mamma’s house franchise opposite Martin Lawrence. Recently Long started in KEANU opposite Jordan Peele and Keegan Michael Key and the Richard LaGravenese / Tony Goldwyn series THE DIVIDE on WEtv.
Nia is three-time NAACP Image award winner and was was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for her performance in the hit Showtime series House of Lies opposite Don Cheadle She starred in the Universal feature Best Man Holiday, which opened to #1 at the domestic box office and the Lionsgate feature Single Mile Club for director Tyler Perry. Her recent film credits include Premonition opposite Sandra Bullock for MGM, Are We Done Yet? opposite Ice Cube , ALFIE opposite Jude Law.
In addition to her film and TV work, Long’s passion lies in serving her community. With her family roots planted in Trinidad, Grenada, and Barbados, Long’s long term goals are to connect women in the US to those of the islands and to mentor young girls to regain their self-esteem. Long lends her support to Black Girls Rock, an organization that promotes the arts for young women of color and encourages dialogue on the ways women of color are portrayed in the media. In 2012 she was named an official surrogate to the Barack Obama re-election campaign.
