Kate Young began her fashion career at Vogue Magazine. After several years at Vogue, first assisting Anna Wintour and later as market editor, Young was named contributing editor at Teen Vogue. Since embarking on a freelance career in 2003, Young has contributed to publications ranging from i-D, Interview (where she served for three years as Fashion-Editor-at-Large) and Flair to numerous international editions of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Vanity Fair.
Young has collaborated with many of the industry’s top photographers, including Ellen von Unwerth, Terry Richardson, Karen Collins, Doug Inglish, Karl Lagerfeld, Josh Olins, Jenny Gage+Tom Betterton, Amanda de Cadenet, Matt Jones, Max Vadukal, Pamela Hanson, Arthur Elgort, Herb Ritts, Mark Abrahams and Tom Munro.
Young has styled ad campaigns for Sisley, Theory, Ann Taylor, Armani Exchange, Carolina Herrera, Esprit, Neiman Marcus, Guerlain, L’Oreal, Cover Girl, Target and Anne Klein as well as shows for designers ranging from Derek Lam to Nini Ricci to Yigal Azrouel. Her roster of celebrity clients includes Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz, Diane Kruger and Selma Blair.
