Of Bahamian and Scottish descent and raised in several countries, DeVeaux has put his knowledge of various cultures and languages to good use building an international reputation for style and excellence.
DeVeaux created the Be Cool Be Nice movement project, bringing together some of the world’s leading influencers and celebrities to promote messages of kindness and anti-bullying which has quickly garnered over a billion media impressions.
DeVeaux recently teamed up with former ASOS Chairman Lord Alli to launch the fashion e-commerce site Koovs.com in India where he is bringing fashion forward style and exclusive designer collaborations to India including Henry Holland and Giles Deacon among others.
DeVeaux is a key component along with #1 make-up artist Pat McGrath to the phenomenal success of the recently launched must-have cult status Pat McGrath Make Up line, which has garnered over 15 billion media impressions in a year with hyper coveted products that sell out within minutes of launch.
DeVeaux’s philanthropic works include projects with the United Nations, The UK House of Lords, The London Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ through his company GDX Connect. GDX Connect specializes in delivering the ‘impossible to get’ globally.
DeVeaux was contributing editor for Tatler magazine, Editor at Large for GQ International (Conde Nast) and style consultant for MTV Networks co-hosting global shows like MTV Style. He was Style Director and judge for three seasons of the hit TV show Scandinavia’s Next Top Model and Creative Director and Judge on Britain’s Next Top Model. DeVeaux also shared his fashion tips on Sky’s Project Catwalk and the BBC mega hit Strictly Come Dancing and teamed up with presenter June Sarpong for the Channel 4 series Slave to Fashion. DeVeaux’ other TV projects include producing and presenting the BBC World series, Living Style with Gerry DeVeaux, which aired in over 200 countries. DeVeaux is also Special International Correspondent for E! Entertainment Networks (NBC/Universal).
DeVeaux is a guest lecturer at London’s prestigious Royal College of Art. He consults and works closely with several international designers and was creative consultant and ambassador for Fashion Rocks for the Princes Trust and is on Britain’s Cool Brands council. He was also Creative Director for the UK charity campaign Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.
DeVeaux was offered his own record label DeVox through (Sony/BMG) where he signed and produced the groundbreaking best-selling artist Angie Stone. Stone’s debut DeVox/BMG album Black Diamond was voted ‘Best Album of The Year’ in America by Billboard. Among Gerry’s other multi-platinum music hits are the breakthrough worldwide #1 smash ‘Be My Baby’ for France’s reigning queen of pop Vanessa Paradis, international hits for rock icon Lenny Kravitz and pop princess Kylie Minogue and the #1 U.S. Grammy-nominated song ‘Never Miss The Water’ from Chaka Khan’s Best of collection.
