Chris Meledandri is a film producer and founder and CEO of Illumination Entertainment. Founded in 2007, the all audience film production company is financed by Universal Pictures. Meledandri is the producer behind the box office blockbusters Despicable Me 1 and 2, Minions, Hop and The Lorax.

He previously served as President of 20th Century Fox Animation. He is credited with helping Fox become a major power player in the world of animated films. He was a supervisor or executive producer on Ice Age, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Robots, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Simpsons Movie and Horton Hears a Who.

Prior to joining Fox, Melendandri was the President of Dawn Steel Pictures at Walt Disney Pictures, where he served as an executive producer of Cool Runnings.

Most recently Meledandri was awarded Mifa & Variety’s Animation Personality of the Year Award at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
