Britt McHenry joined ESPN in March of 2014 as a Washington, D.C.-based bureau reporter, contributing to various platforms including SportsCenter, Outside the Lines, NFL Live, and Baseball Tonight. She has been a sports reporter at ABC7/WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C. since 2010, and previously, was at News Channel 8, where she began her career as a community reporter and weekend morning show anchor in 2008.
She has covered Stephen Strasburg’s first big league camp; was the first D.C. reporter to secure a sit-down interview with Bryce Harper when he was just 17-years old; covered the 2012 Nationals-Cardinals NLDS; and landed one-on-one interviews with Redskins owner Dan Snyder (days after he sued the Washington City Paper) and Mike Shanahan during his last season.
She also covered the Ravens, providing sideline post-game reports during Baltimore’s 2013 AFC Championship and co-hosting an hour-long Super Bowl special. Originally from Mount Holly Township, New Jersey, Britt grew up in Satellite Beach, Florida. She graduated from Stetson University where she was a member of the school’s Division I soccer team, and earned her master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
