Biography

Bear Grylls OBE, is the global face of survival and outdoor adventure. Bear rose to international stardom as the host of Discovery Channel’s Man vs. Wild. He has since hosted eight seasons of Running Wild with Bear Grylls, in which he takes the world’s best-known stars on incredible adventures. Noteworthy guests on the series have included clients Julia Roberts and Kate Winslet, as well as Bradley Cooper, Will Ferrell, Zac Efron, President Barack Obama, and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

Trained from a young age in martial arts, Grylls went on to spend three years as a soldier in the British Special Forces, as part of 21 SAS Regiment. It was here that he perfected many of the survival skills that his fans all over the world enjoy, as he pits himself against the worst of Mother Nature.

Bear has also hosted over six seasons of the BAFTA award-winning Channel 4 series, The Island with Bear Grylls, as well as the Emmy Award-nominated series Hostile Planet for National Geographic and You vs. Wild for Netflix. Bear and his longtime producing partner Delbert Shoopman teamed up with global production and distribution powerhouse Banijay Group to launch The Natural Studios, which produces both scripted and non-scripted adventure content. The Natural Studios provides a home for the best adventure talent worldwide, to help them create shows that inspire and move people to go for it in their lives and to never give up.
