Thomas Keller is internationally renowned for his innovation and dedication in his culinary pursuits. After apprenticing in France, he returned to New York and opened his first restaurant, Rakel. He then returned to California and eventually purchased The French Laundry, creating a three-star country French restaurant in the heart of the Napa Valley that has been showered with accolades and awards. The French Laundry Cookbook was awarded three 1999 International Association of Culinary Professionals Awards, including Cookbook of the Year, as well as many other honors.
