Steve Ward
One of America's most successful professional matchmakers and relationship experts, Steve Ward is the star of "VH1 Tough Love," a series that gives a rare, inside look into the male perspective on dating and relationships. Steve, with help along the way from his mom and mentor, "Master Matchmaker" JoAnn Ward, attempt to reshape a group of women's destructive dating habits and help them find Mr. Right in his tough love boot camp.
Since his earliest years, Steve has been immersed in his
mother's successful matchmaking business, Master
Matchmakers. After graduating from Drexel University in
Philadelphia, Steven joined JoAnn Ward to grow the business into
one of the largest and most successful personal matchmaking and
coaching services in the United States. With hundreds of marriages
under their belts, Steven and JoAnn have over 3,500 clients
throughout the country and are planning to expand their business
internationally in the near future.
Previously featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine's November 2003
Hottest Hunk edition, and having squared off with Jimmy Fallon on
his premiere week of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Steven Ward is
no stranger to the spotlight, now having appeared on "Jimmy's show"
five times to date. He has received feature coverage in
Cosmopolitan, Redbook, OK! Magazine, Us Weekly, People Magazine,
Woman's Own, Complete Woman, Gotham Magazine and more for his
career in television and matchmaking, seeking his commentary on
dating, bachelorhood and relationships of celebrities and people
everywhere. Steve has also appeared on several other national and
regional TV programs including Good Morning America, The Today
Show, The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet, Tyra Banks, Rachel
Ray, The Insider, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, EXTRA,
Lifechangers, Fox News, and more.
In addition to starring in VH1's successful series, Steve and his mom co-authored the book "Crash Course in Love" published in November, 2009 by Pocket Books. The book is a refreshingly honest and handy resource for all women, whether they are looking for love and companionship or simply hoping to hold onto it. Steve and JoAnn's dating principles are organized into different stages in the relationship life cycle, from first impressions to developing and maintaining a deeper connection. Readers learn how to flirt with a purpose, how to set up a date, when to get intimate, the best way to bounce back from rejection, and much more. Each suggestion is followed by a clear and concise passage providing insight for the reader with anecdotes and other helpful information as well.
Steve has returned as Executive Producer, Host and resident matchmaker for the fifth season this time in "Tough Love: New Orleans." Once again, he and JoAnn will work with a group of women over a ten-week boot camp to remedy their pervasive dating issues and rid them of their bad habits while dishing out the constructive criticism that they've become famous for.
