Max Lugavere
Co-founding Host & Producer, Current TV
Max Lugavere is a co-founding host and producer of the Emmy-winning Current TV, the international television network founded by Al Gore. He co-hosted Pangea Day, the TED Conference's live broadcast of short films from six international cities that reached more than 150 countries. From 2005 to 2010, along with a college buddy, Max hosted, produced and wrote his own flagship show on Current, "Max & Jason: Still Up." The late-night hour featured citizen journalism from around the world and landed the duo a slot in Gap's 2008 "Icons" campaign worldwide. Interview Magazine calls them "the 21st-century duo who are breaking the blow-dried television host mold."
Considered to be on the avant-guard of branded entertainment, Max has worked with several international brands, and is considered an expert voice on the role new media for social change. Max is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post and a celebrity ambassador for Causecast.org.
Max is an active speaker-he has spoken at Yale about citizen journalism and the future of media and has also led similarly-themed panel discussions at The Paley Center for Media in both in NY and LA. Most recently, he completed a pilot for an HBO docu-series entitled Talk Nerdy To Me about science and technology with executive producer, Bill Maher.
In his spare time, Max pursues an avid interest in science, particularly health, nutrition, and medicine. He recently founded Rockdrive, a non-profit concert series to benefit changing education paradigms, which has been growing annually.
Lugavere resides in Los Angeles and New York City.
