Few life stories are as inspiring as Lance Armstrong's. One of the greatest cyclists in the history of competitive road racing, Lance won the grueling Tour de France a record seven consecutive times' astonishingly, all of them after rebounding from a near-fatal battle with brain and testicular cancer. His courage and unconquerable will not just to survive his illness but dominate his sport have made him the most admired athlete in the world and a powerful inspiration to the millions of people battling cancer worldwide.

Since being diagnosed with cancer in 1996, Lance has become a leading advocate in the search for a cancer cure. The charitable organization he created the year after his diagnosis, the Lance Armstrong Foundation, provides survivors with the information and tools they need to live life on their own terms, as Lance himself has done. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $10 million in research grants. Lance has also been appointed to sit on the President's Cancer Panel, which monitors the activities of the National Cancer Program and reports directly to the President.
