Chef and Restaurateur
Chef Graham Elliot is a "Navy brat" who has traveled the world and all fifty states. He's a creative culinary wizard with an innate ability to successfully juxtaposes four-star cuisine with humor, wit and out-of-the-box artistry. At age 27, he became the youngest Four Star Chef to be named in any major U.S. city and was named one of Food & Wine Magazine's "Best New Chef" in 2004. In recent years has accrued several prestigious accolades, including multiple James Beard Foundation nominations as well as being named one of Crain's Chicago Business list of "40 Under Forty", putting him in an elite club that includes luminaries such as Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey.
In May of 2008 at the age of 31, Graham opened the aptly named Graham Elliot, a restaurant that would not only bear his name but become an extension of his passionate personality, embodying his core belief that cooking is an artistic, creative outlet. Since opening its doors the restaurant has hypnotized the city of Chicago, garnering one Michelin star in both 2011 and 2012. In addition to major celebrities who regularly frequent Graham Elliot, the restaurant recently hosted President Obama birthday dinner with such guests as Oprah Winfrey in attendance.
In December 2010 Graham opened the fast-casual sandwich concept simply titled "Grahamwich" in Chicago's River North area. Grahamwich has become a go-to spot for Chicagoans and visitors alike seeking inspired sandwiches, homemade sodas on tap, truffle popcorn, artisan soft serves and french press coffee to go. Grahamwich has received numerous accolades and press, with Food & Wine naming their grilled cheese one of the best in the country and Travel & Leisure including it as a top dining destination in the US. There was so much excitement surrounding its opening that #Grahamwich even became a trending topic on Twitter.
In June of 2012, Chef Graham Elliot opened his third Chicago restaurant, g.e.b. (graham elliot bistro), offering a seasonally focused menu using old world techniques with three ingredients or less per dish. Located in the "West Loop" of Chicago's fabled Randolph Street, the bistro relies on foodstuffs from local farmers and markets with the notion to do as little to the ingredients as possible.
In addition to appearing on Iron Chef and three seasons of the popular show "Top Chef Masters," Graham co-stars alongside Gordon Ramsay and Joe Bastianich in the FOX series MasterChef, which is now in its third season. Graham, a singer and guitarist in his own right, is also the Culinary Director of Lollapalooza where he helps setup ChowTown with the best chefs and restaurants Chicago has to offer. His latest venture has him partnering up with acclaimed Roots drummer ?uestlove, as they launch Quest Loves Food Powered by Graham Elliot", which offer whimsical and delicious food paired with an eclectic and interactive catering experience.
Graham has been a regular on such broadcasts as Access Hollywood, Nightline, Good Morning America, and The Today Show among others. When he's not traveling the globe in search of gastronomic inspiration, he resides in Chicago with his wife and business partner, Allie, and his three children, Mylo and Conrad and Jedediah.
