Ten-time All-Star Derek Jeter is this generation's baseball hero. With his exciting style and flair for the dramatic, the five-time World Series champion has become one of the most popular athletes today. Since winning the American League Rookie of the Year award in 1996 and leading the Yankees to their first championship since 1978, Derek has become a permanent fixture in the post-season. Still young at 35, he already owns five World Series rings, the all-time record for post-season hits, four gold glove awards, was the 2006 AL MVP runner-up, and in 2000 was the first player in Major League history to win both the All-Star and World Series MVP awards in the same year.

Derek's presence both on and off the field have made him the game's most marketable player. His national appeal landed him the opportunity to host Saturday Night Live and made him one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People" in 1997 and 1999. In 2007 he was listed as one of the "Most Powerful Celebrities" by Forbes Magazine.

Derek established the Turn 2 Foundation in 1996 to encourage kids to turn away from drugs and alcohol and "Turn 2" healthy lifestyles. Turn 2 has awarded more than $9 million dollars since its inception.
