As the co-host of FOX & Friends, the #1 morning program on
cable television, Brian Kilmeade reaches millions of Americans
every morning with his unique perspective of the day's news events.
Fox & Friends is an offbeat morning show that takes a fresh
look at the news, sports and weather. Also serving as the network's
sports anchor, Kilmeade covers the latest in sports updates and
national events.
Kilmeade's dual role at FOX shows his versatility in reporting the
news of the day and interviewing high-profile guests while
maintaining the network's sports coverage. His interviews with
Secretary of State Colin Powell and comedian Janeane Garofalo made
national headlines. Kilmeade played a large part in FOX's coverage
of September 11, 2001, as well as Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he
reported from Kuwait with the troops. He has contributed live
coverage of both the Democratic and Republican Party
Conventions.
As the FOX's sports anchor, Kilmeade was on location at Houston's
Reliant Stadium reporting on Super Bowl XXXVIII and played an
integral role in reporting the Kobe Bryant case for the network.
Kilmeade's first book, The Games Do Count: America's Best And
Brightest On The Power Of Sports, examines how sports have
influenced the lives of our leaders. With interviews from
luminaries ranging from U.S. presidents to powerful CEOs, the book
is a motivational look at the positive effect sports has on our
lives.
His 2007 follow up book, It's How You Play the Game: The Powerful
Sports Moments That Taught Lasting Values to America's Finest,
looks at defining sports moments through the eyes of athletes,
CEOs, actors, politicians and historical figures. Whether it's
learning how to get along with others, to never give up, to be
gracious in victory and defeat, or even knowing when to throw in
the towel, Kilmeade's interviewees explain how the discipline and
rules they learned on the field prepared them to handle life and
overcome adversity with dignity and sportsmanship. Drawing from his
books, Kilmeade's inspiring presentation is a unique perspective on
sports, leadership and teamwork.
AT A GLANCE: A graduate of Long Island
University, Kilmeade began his career as a correspondent on Channel
One, a daily national high school television news program. He then
served as an anchor and host for KHSC-TV in Ontario, California and
also co-hosted The Jim Brown Show on XTRA-AM, an all-sports radio
network.
Prior to joining the FOX News Channel, Kilmeade served as a
freelance sports anchor for WVITTV (NBC) in Hartford, as well as a
sideline reporter for the MSG Network, where he covered the New
York/New Jersey Metro-Stars, a major league soccer team based in
Giants Stadium. He worked as a feature reporter and anchor for
Newsport TV, where he hosted Newsport Journal, a daily magazine
show for the national sports network. He also anchored Scoreboard
Central, a live half hour general sports program, and has seven
years of experience as a stand-up comedian.
