Amber Lyon is a three-time Emmy Award- winning journalist. Two years in a row, in 2007 and 2008, she won the Emmy Award for "Best On-Camera Talent- Reporter". She has a unique "show, don't tell" backpack reporting style that captivates audiences.

Amber was born in Denver, CO and moved to St. Louis, MO during her childhood. In 2004 she graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia School of Journalism with a degree in Broadcast News and minor in Psychology. While at school, Amber cut her anchoring skills at University-owned affiliate KOMU-TV as a weekend anchor and investigative reporter.

Upon graduation, Amber headed west to work as the morning live reporter at the NBC affiliate KVOA. While at KVOA, Amber earned two Emmy Awards for her creative live reporting style and for her storytelling abilities. Amber is most proud of her investigation on how the sleeping habits of mothers and babysitters were responsible for more than half of Tucson's baby deaths. The story won an Edward R. Murrow Award and is continuing to save countless lives by raising awareness about the dangers of co-sleeping.

Working in Tucson opened up Amber's eyes to the complex issue of illegal immigration. She soon became fascinated with covering illegal immigration issues (immigrant deportations, immigrant deaths, drug smuggling, the Minute Men).

In December 2007, Amber moved to Central America. She spent the majority of her six-month trip living in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. While in Quetzaltenango, Amber volunteered at the privately-owned local TV station, Cable DX, working for the nightly news program, Primera Linea.

Upon returning to the states, Amber landed a job as a morning news anchor and reporter in Miami. Due to a management change, the show shifted to a lighter, entertainment-driven focus, so Amber moved on to another opportunity where she could focus on her hard news passion.

Amber enjoys spending time laughing with her three sisters and laughing at her three adorable dogs. She loves being at the beach or in the ocean and is a PADI Advanced Open Water certified scuba diver who plans to train to become a Dive Master.
